Cabinet Refacing
What is Cabinet refacing?
When we use the term Refacing, it means that we are replacing JUST the doors and drawer fronts in the kitchen.
Refacing is a great middle ground between refinishing (new coating) and total cabinet replacement since it typically costs more than refinishing, but less then replacement!
It’s the best of both worlds; in both cost and “wow factor” results.
Since 90% of what you see in a kitchen is just doors & drawer fronts…… it’s really like getting a whole new kitchen without the high price tag of replacement!
It’s also much more eco-friendly and sustainable; why throw out all your cabinets boxes, if they function fine and you just need a design update?
You can choose from many of the latest cabinet styles (seen below if you scroll farther down on this page).
NOTE:
It typically does not make sense to re-stain red oak, or pine since these are open grain woods, the labor is high and we cannot warranty the finish like we normally wood. Also due to that porous nature, it is typically cost prohibitive because it takes much more labor. Maple cabinets, or even thermofoil kitchen cabinets (which is most kitchens done in the last 20 years however) is perfect for refinishing and refacing though.
If you like the current layout of your kitchen and want to save the major cost (and time) it takes to remodel, cabinet refacing offers the perfect solution.
So, between re-facing, and painting (new coating); there are many options to give your kitchen a functional and stylish upgrade……even if you want a whole new design for the doors, pulls and color.
We would love to make your dream kitchen a reality, and we’re just a call away!
Cabinet refacing design options
We can make almost any design you’d like, but here are some of the most common ones, including “Shaker” style, which is currently the most popular option.
Benjamin Moore - Color options
We can match our coatings to almost any color you like, but here are the most popular colors, including our designer favorite; White Dove!
WHAT IS THE PROCESS LIKE?
The new drawers and drawer fronts you select will be finished in your chosen color, or stain (White Dove by Benjamin Moore or Espresso stain, for example) and then we spray the cabinet boxes that are already installed on-site in the matching stain, or color.
Finishing on site (your kitchen for example) is a labor intensive process, and requires careful and thorough preparations; for both a good finish and to keep your house free of overspray. Here is a picture of the a prepped kitchen after we’ve already sprayed:
Cabinet trim and millwork
In addition to doors and drawer fronts getting replaced; we can also upgrade your island and/or cabinet end panels to really make them pop so they don’t look “builder-grade” anymore.
Check out how much of a difference it makes in the pictures below!

Cabinet modifcations
For this lovely client, we converted an open unused space in the existing island into a cozy little dog kennel for her pups.
