Cabinet Refacing

What is Cabinet refacing?

A Smart Upgrade for Your Kitchen

Cabinet refacing is a simple yet transformative process: we replace just the doors and drawer fronts, keeping your existing cabinet boxes (the storage sections) in place.
It’s the perfect middle ground—more impactful than refinishing (a new coating) but far less expensive than a full cabinet replacement.
The best of both worlds; you get cost savings and “WOW” factor!

Why Choose Refacing?

Refacing delivers affordability, style update, convenience and saves you time.

Since doors and drawer fronts make up about 90% of what you see in your kitchen, replacing them really makes it feel like a brand-new space (without the hefty price tag of a total overhaul or remodel).

Here’s why it’s a win:

  • Cost-Effective: More affordable and budget friendly than replacement, and more impact than just refinishing (painting).
  • Big Impact: Updates your kitchen’s look and makes it look brand new, with minimal disruption to your life.
  • Eco-Friendly: Reuses functional cabinet boxes instead of tossing them out (what a waste, right?)
  • Fast Results: Completed quicker than a full replacement—often in days/weeks (not months).

Customization at Your Fingertips

With refacing, you’re in control.
You can choose from the latest cabinet styles (check out options below!) or go fully custom to match a specific design you’re after!
Whether you want sleek modern doors, or a classic traditional look, we’ve got you covered.

However, not all cabinets are ideal for Refacing.

  • The best type of kitchen for refacing:
    Maple, Cherry, paint grade woods, and thermofoil cabinets —  they take finishes beautifully and the new doors will blend with ease.

  • Can be done but less idea;
    Red oak cabinets are done all the time; the only thing to note is that there will be some texture here still due to the grainy nature of red oak hardwoods.

  • Not Recommended:
    Knotty pine or rustic cabinetry. It typically does not make sense to do these ones, because the large knots in pine cabinet doors are an open grain and we cannot warranty the finish like we normally would, or properly clean, sand or remove existing finishes.

In most kitchens, Refacing Beats Replacement;

Why tear out perfectly good cabinet boxes, when all you really need is a design, or style update?

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR REFACING?

The new drawers and drawer fronts you select will be finished (primed and top-coated) in your chosen color or stain at our shop.
Then we’ll spray the cabinet boxes that are already installed on-site in the matching stain, or color.

Finishing on-site (your kitchen, for example) is a labor intensive process, and requires careful and thorough prep.  This ensures a good, smooth finish, and keep the surrounding space free of over-spray.

Here is a picture of the a prepped kitchen after we’ve already sprayed:

Cabinet moulding, trim and millwork

In addition to replacing doors and drawer fronts we can also upgrade your cabinet end panels.
To really make them “pop” you can add moulding all around;  this removes the “builder-grade” look and makes it look more custom.

Check out how much of a difference it makes in the pictures below!
